5 new faces at Sphinx Drive

Coventry Sphinx have announced 5 signings over the past 7 days.

Goalkeeper Richard Obimpeh is welcomed into the first team with striker Chris Sterling, from Rugby Town, and midfielder Alex Tomkinson (pictured), from Barwell, also arriving on Thursday.

Forward Curvin Ellis returns to the club after a season-long spell at Coleshill Town with Ricky Hill following closely behind after he completed his transfer from Romulus.

Sterling, Tomkinson and Hill all started in Sphinx’s 2-0 FA Cup loss at home to Boldmere St Michael’s on Saturday.

It was also revealed Reece Blackmore had left for Bedworth United. He wrote on Twitter: “want to thank everyone at @CoventrySphinx players and staff etc! Enjoyed my best football there”

The club then announced yesterday that all their 2017/18 season shirt sponsorships would be donated to Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice. The ladies team played a charity match against USA outfit Wilmington College in aid of the charity on Sunday.
